2013 CODE 1 Conference, March 22-23

Emergency medical services personnel from around eastern Iowa will gather at Kirkwood Community College’s 2013 CODE 1 Conference to learn more about emergency patient care, policymaking, emergency readiness and system development.

The conference runs Friday, March 22, through Saturday, March 23. Participants can attend one or both days.

The conference provides seminars on diverse medical topics, while presenting up-to-date information on global issues and corresponding expectations that are placed upon the EMS community.

The conference features nationally recognized speakers on topics suited for a broad range of EMS providers. Topics include pediatric head injuries, care for patients injured in smart cars, how CPR continues to evolve and much more.

This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Keith Wesley, is a board-certified emergency medicine Physician and EMS medical director for HealthEast Medical Transportation in St. Paul, Minn. Wesley has served as both the state EMS medical director for Minnesota and Wisconsin and chair of the National Council of State EMS Medical Directors.
