Kirkwood’s Iowa City Campus hosted its second annual Mini Dance Marathon on Friday night ,Jan. 23. Kirkwood students, faculty, staff and friends enjoyed pizza and dancing from 6 to 9 p.m. The event raised $300 for the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Members of Iowa’s Dance Marathon team were in attendance to energize the crowd.

Kirkwood’s Dance Marathon works in conjunction with the Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization that raises money for children’s hospitals, medical research and awareness of children’s health problems. Students nationwide raise approximately $125 million dollars each year through Dance Marathon to donate to various children’s health organizations.

The University of Iowa will host a larger-scale Dance Marathon Feb. 6-7 at the Iowa Memorial Union. Donations still may be made to Kirkwood’s Dance Marathon on the Iowa City campus.
