Cedar Rapids, Iowa (April 23, 2014)—On Friday, May 9, Kirkwood Community College will be part of a worldwide conference on leadership. Area business professionals are invited to participate in a simulcast of the Leadercast event held in Atlanta, Georgia. The daylong event enables participants to engage with others in the community and get motivated by renowned speakers.

According to Inc. magazine, bad managers cost the U.S. economy $360 billion a year in lost productivity and 65 percent of employees say they would take a new boss over a pay raise. Leadercast is an organization that strives to create leaders worth following. Through blogs, short film and motivational events, Leadercast creates positive shifts in leadership practices.

Featured speakers for the May 9 event include best-selling authors, Andy Stanley, Malcom Gladwell, Laura Schroff, and Simon Sinek; Archbishop Desmond Tutu; Laura Bush; SAP AG CEO Bill McDermott; Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Henry Cloud; and filmmaker, Randall Wallace.

As a designated venue, The Hotel at Kirkwood Center will broadcast the event; and provide breakfast, lunch and dessert in the afternoon. Cost to attend is $99. Online registration is available at www.kirkwood.edu/leadercast.
