Cedar Rapids, Iowa (February 22, 2016)—Kirkwood Community College’s two day women’s conference Beyond Rubies will be held March 3 – 4 at The Kirkwood Center. Comediennes Amy Dee Kristensen and Kay Frances are keynote speakers.

Amy Dee Kristensen, former psychiatric nurse and entrepreneur, is a master storyteller and comedienne. She kicks off the conference with engaging stories and songs that provide constructive solutions to everyday work and home challenges.

On March 4, former standup comedienne Kay Frances combines her expertise in humor and stress management reminding women to laugh and live happier, healthier lives. She’s been motivating audiences for three decades.

The Beyond Rubies conference has been focusing on women’s personal and professional development for more than 30 years. This year topics range from defusing drama to effective communication to life/work balance. Attendees can choose from more than 40 breakout sessions.

“Participants may sign up for one or both days of the conference,” said Coordinator Erin Brokel. “It’s a wonderful event that enables women to better themselves, network and re-energize.”

Registration includes lunch. Various vendors will be on hand. Although preconference registration is preferred, same day sign up is an option. For more information visit www.kirkwood.edu/rubies.
