Winter Gardening Fair Held on Kirkwood’s Main Campus

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (February 15, 2017)-Kirkwood Community College will hold the Winter Gardening Fair on Saturday, February 25, in Cedar Hall on main campus in Cedar Rapids. The Iowa State University Linn County Extension Office hosts this annual event.

The one-day event features 40 workshops and hands-on classes by Iowa Master Gardeners ranging from critter control and organic vegetable gardening to compost and small prairie creation.

In addition to participating in four course offerings, the $59 registration includes attending one of two keynote addresses and lunch. Keynote speaker, author Megan Cain, will discuss design inspirations for creative vegetable gardening; while local gardening educator Scott Koepke presents “Feeding Soil and Feeding Souls”.
