What is your background?: My hometown is Cedar Rapids and I went to Prairie High School. My parents are Jeff and Diane, and I have one older sister, Katie, who graduated from UNI a year ago.

What brought you to Kirkwood and why?: I came to Kirkwood because it was a great place to start out, especially since I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a career yet. I also felt that Kirkwood had a culture of success, in both academics and athletics. I had the opportunity to be a part of a really great softball program, which is another reason I came to Kirkwood. Every Kirkwood Alum I had talked to said it was the best choice they ever made coming to this school and they only had positive things to say, which also made me feel like Kirkwood was the right place for me.

What is your program of study and what interests you about it?: I am currently in the Liberal Arts program, but I plan to transfer to a four year school and get a degree in Exercise Science. I enjoy working out and being active, and I am really interested in becoming a personal trainer or health coach. I am also interested in helping people achieve their goals in health and fitness.

Are you involved in anything else on campus? If so, what and why?: Softball is the only thing I am involved in on campus, but I am interested in being a part of the Student Leadership Council.

What do you do for fun?: I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and my two dogs. I also enjoy traveling, going to the beach, hiking, kayaking and fishing.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:
In five years I see myself having a job as a personal trainer or health coach, and most likely staying close to Iowa. I hope to still be involved in the sport of softball, so I see myself coaching in the future as well!
