Guest Chef Series: Andrew Springett comes to Kirkwood

Chef Andrew Springett, part of the Kirkwood Hospitality Arts Guest Chef Series, will host a cooking demonstration at noon, Sunday, November 20, 2011, in The Hotel’s Executive Technology Amphitheater, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids.

Chef Springett, who teaches at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Alberta, Canada, has competed at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Competition in France, and at the World Culinary Competition as a member of Team British Columbia. He trained and worked with some of Canada’s most famous chefs in extraordinary restaurants such as North 44, The Metropolitan and, most recently, he rose to international recognition as Chef de Cuisine at the world-renowned Wickinnish Inn in Tofino and Executive Chef at the elegant Black Rock Oceanfront Resort.

Chef Springett’s menu is inspirational yet attainable for those seeking to recreate his dishes at home. Guests will be served each demonstrated course. Cost is $60 per person.
