KCCK-FM Program Director Bob Stewart was recently named Programmer of the Year for small markets at the annual JazzWeek Awards. Stewart has now earned the award three times (2004, 2008, 2010).

Stewart was chosen based on the votes of readers of JazzWeek Magazine and participants in the publication’s Jazz Programmers’ Mailing List.

In 2004 KCCK also won the Small Market Station of the Year honor from JazzWeek. The JazzWeek Summit is held annually. The magazine publishes the national airplay chart for jazz radio, based on measured airplay data provided by Mediaguide.

KCCK-FM is the non-commercial, listener-supported public radio service from Kirkwood Community College. For more than three decades the station has provided an eclectic mix of music, information and community outreach as part of Kirkwood’s overall mission in east central Iowa. The station operates at 88.3 MHZ for much of the Corridor, plus an additional signal to Johnson County at 106.9 FM.
