The Iowa Community College Athletic Association has named Staci Gillum of Kirkwood Community College as the Division II Basketball Athlete of the Week. The 5-7 guard from West Des Moines was honored for her contributions to several Eagles wins in the past week.
Gillum accumulated 43 points, 12 assists, 10 steals and 13 rebounds in wins over American Institute of Business, Southeastern and Illinois Central. Kirkwood has an unbeaten conference record this year and a 31-1 overall mark heading into tournament play against Des Moines Area CC Thursday night, March 4.
Following graduation from Kirkwood, the second-year guard plans to transfer to a four-year university and continue her degree studies as well as basketball team play.
