30 former players return for camaraderie and to honor their Head Coach Muhl
It was a champs’ reunion in Johnson Hall on December 5, as 30 former Kirkwood Community College Women’s Basketball alumni returned for a reunion. The former student-athletes were on hand to witness their former head coach Kim Muhl receive the honor of an endowed scholarship in his name. Kirkwood staffers announced the honor before the start of the Kirkwood/Iowa Western game at 2 p.m. December 5.
The women represented award-winning teams spanning Muhl’s 20-year coaching tenure at Kirkwood. Many of them were veterans of Region XI championships and five NJCAA Division II championship titles.
