“Flowers Under Construction” theme in Ballantyne Auditorium, 2 p.m.
Kirkwood Community College will present its annual Floral Careers Show Sunday afternoon, June 22. The program will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Kirkwood’s Ballantyne Auditorium.
Students in the college’s Floral Careers program will present fresh flower arrangements and designs for all occasions, displaying knowledge and skills gained in their Kirkwood course work.
The theme of this year’s program is “Flowers Under Construction.” The guest commentator is Al Pierson of Pierson’s Flowers Shop and Greenhouse in Cedar Rapids.
Kirkwood offers the only Floral Careers program in the state, and draws students from a wide area to the program. The college’s professors are Linette Geissler AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designers), IMF (Iowa Master Florist) and Lora Dodd Brosseau IMF.
