Eagles to Face Rival DMACC in Pivotal Matchups

Women Look for 14th Straight Win While Men Enter Top-10 Showdown

Cedar Rapids, Iowa (January 27, 2014)-Both the Kirkwood men’s and women’s basketball teams will be in action at Johnson Hall on Wednesday, January 28, in crucial conference matchups with rival Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).

Women’s Head Coach Kim Muhl, who recently got career win number 750, has his team rolling on a 13-game win streak. The Eagles (17-4, 5-0) are ranked number four in the nation and are gaining momentum as they head toward the postseason in a quest for yet another championship. DMACC (14-7, 3-2) comes into the contest on the cusp of a top-20 ranking after receiving votes in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll.

Men’s Head Coach Bryan Petersen has coached his team to wins in six out of the last seven contests. The Eagles (16-4, 3-1) are ranked seventh in the nation and are primed for a top-ten game versus the eighth-ranked DMACC Bears (17-4, 3-1). The winner will be in sole possession of first place in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
