CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (June 6, 2016)-The safety of the state’s water supply will be the focus of Kirkwood Community College’s innovative water and wastewater conferences. Held annually, the conferences bring together industry leaders to focus on water quality and protection.
The Annual Water Conference runs June 20 – 21 with the Wastewater Conference July 25 – 26. Some of this year’s topics include changes in water bacteria regulations, lime dosing, industrial waste compliance and lagoon cleaning. The conferences are also an opportunity for professionals to renew their current licenses for the upcoming renewal period.
“Since 1989 Kirkwood has been hosting the water conference,” said Program Developer Kim Fensterman. “Due in part because if its success, the wastewater conference was put together five years later. The conferences draw water and wastewater professionals from every corner of the state.”
Both conferences take place at the Kirkwood Continuing Education Training Center located at 101 50th Avenue S.W. in Cedar Rapids. Cost to attend each conference is $135. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. For more information visit www.kirkwood.edu/ce.
