Kirkwood Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Todd Rima as head Eagles baseball coach.

Rima, who spent the last 11 seasons as head coach at North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City, led that program from the bottom half of the Region XI standings to winning 321 games during his tenure, and coached them to the school’s first ever Iowa Community College Athletic Conference baseball regular season championship.

Prior to NIACC, Rima served three years as an assistant at the University of Northern Iowa, where he coached 13 All-Conference players, six of whom were selected in the MLB Draft.

As a player at UNI, Rima was a two-time captain and four-year starter at second base for the Panthers. He graduated holding UNI records in career hits, at-bats, doubles and runs.

“We are excited about the level of successful experience and consistency that Coach Rima brings to our baseball program,” said Kirkwood Athletic Director Doug Wagemester. “He brings with him a philosophy that emphasizes balance between the field and the classroom.”
