Meeting will feature information on college’s Agricultural Sciences programs
WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa (Sept. 17, 2025)–Kirkwood Community College will host the next meeting of its Iowa County Leadership Council on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 1:30–3 p.m. at Kirkwood’s Iowa County Center in Williamsburg. College representatives, local leaders and community members are all expected to attend.
This will be the second gathering of the council this year, which was created to further connect Kirkwood with the communities it serves. The meetings focus on how the college’s resources benefit the region and how new opportunities can be developed to meet local needs.
The upcoming meeting will spotlight Kirkwood’s Agricultural Sciences department–recognized widely as one of the leading two-year Ag programs in the country. Attendees will hear about the different programs available, learn about recent developments within the department, and how it supports students, employers, and the agricultural community.
According to Kirkwood Iowa County Center Associate Director Michael Jacobsen, the event is designed to keep the community engaged and informed about the latest at the institution.
“At our upcoming meeting, we’ll be covering collegewide updates, recent developments at the Iowa County Center, and exciting news from Kirkwood’s Agricultural Sciences programs,” said Jacobsen. “Community members will have the opportunity to hear what’s happening, discover resources available right here in Iowa County, and share their input to help guide Kirkwood’s future direction. We invite everyone to join us and take part in the ongoing discussion about higher education in our community.”
The Iowa County Leadership Council meets twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
