The fair will introduce job seekers to over 75 employers

On Thursday, April 25, Kirkwood’s Michael J. Gould Recreation Center will be packed with employers looking for the right candidates to fill their open positions.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resume and be dressed for success, as they will have a chance to speak to over 75 employers from the Corridor and surrounding areas. In addition, those seeking employment will be able to take assessments for the  career readiness certificate. The event is an incredible opportunity for both job seekers and employers according to fair organizer Danielle Ebaugh.

“The fair is a great chance for our community members who are unemployed or under-employed to meet with a lot of different employers,” said Ebaugh. “The opportunity to meet face-to-face with HR representatives will help those looking for a job to gain an edge in the hiring process. At the same time it introduces employers to great candidates as well.”

The CorridorWORKS Career Fair is sponsored by the National Career Readiness Certificate and is a joint effort involving multiple area colleges and organizations which include:

• Kirkwood Community College
• Mount Mercy University
• IowaWORKS (Cedar Rapids and Iowa City)
• Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance
• Iowa City Area Development Group
• Cornell College
• ITT Technical Institute
• Kaplan University
• Upper Iowa University
• Coe College
• University of Iowa
