Program of Study: Human Services/CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor)
How did you decide to come to Kirkwood?: I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I also wanted to get started on my core requirements. So I came here. It is also close to home so that helped.
What has been your overall experience at Kirkwood?: It’s been great. Kirkwood is awesome! The college has so much to offer, no matter what you are studying. Everything is easy to fit into my schedule, the instructors are approachable and have helped me get on the right path.
What have been the highlights of your time here?: One major highlight is Going to India for a study abroad program. Really opened my eyes to other cultures.
As far as my educational path goes, after taking some classes I found what I really wanted to do – which makes classes even more enjoyable.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?: I want to transfer to Mt. Mercy to get my Bachelors degree and then to the University of Iowa for my masters. After that, I want to be working in the human services field as a certified alcohol and drug counselor.
