MONDAY 9/26/16
We have received questions regarding the status of classes this week and concerns about the impact of potential flooding in the city. The college is monitoring the situation and is in close contact with the city of Cedar Rapids and the police. At this time the college plans to remain open for classes. The city has not recommended we close the Cedar Rapids campus. However, if the situation changes and the college needs to close, we will notify the community immediately.
Safety is our top concern for everyone. Faculty and staff are encouraged to be flexible with staff and students who are impacted by the flood or related transportation issues and who may not be able to attend classes or work this week.
Kirkwood has proudly served the people of the Corridor for 50 years. As a community we persevered through the 2008 flood. Our community came together and recovered. We will do the same in 2016.
