Dog Wash Fundraiser, Friday, Nov. 21

For dog lovers, Kirkwood Community College students have an opportunity for your “Best Friend” to get spiffed up for Thanksgiving company. The Animal Health student club is hosting a Dog Wash fundraiser Friday, Nov 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Animal Health Technology building on the south side of the Kirkwood campus in Cedar Rapids.

Each bath includes a wash and dry, ear cleaning and a toenail trim. Toenail trims only area also available for $4.

The students emphasize that proof of rabies and distemper vaccinations must be brought with the pet or they will not be allowed to participate.

Prices vary with size of breed and length of coat. Average costs are between $10 and $20, with “giant breeds” with long coats up to $30. Matted hair removal will also be an extra fee, as necessary.
