CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (June 9, 2025)–Kirkwood Community College will hold its 2025 High School Completion Graduation Ceremony at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center on Monday, June 16, beginning at 7 p.m. This year, a total of 195 students are expected to graduate and earn their diploma. Approximately 80 graduates are expected to participate in the graduation ceremony.
To graduate, students must have completed the requirements in one of two pathways to earn a credential. For those adults that are just a few credit hours short of graduating high school, classes are offered through Kirkwood’s adult high school program. After taking their remaining classes, students will graduate with an adult high school diploma. For those that require more instruction, students can take additional classes toward earning their credential. When ready, students then take the High School Equivalency Test, also known as the HiSET, to earn their high school equivalency diploma.
Various speakers will make remarks at the ceremony including Kirkwood President Dr. Kristie Fisher and Associate Director of Secondary Programs Stephanie Hasakis Flaucher. Three graduates will also be speaking at the event about their paths to getting their diplomas.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
