Meeting to focus on college’s workforce and training efforts in Jones County
MONTICELLO, Iowa (Feb. 19, 2025)–Kirkwood Community College will hold the next meeting of the institution’s Jones County Leadership Council on March 3, from 8-9:30 a.m., at Kirkwood’s Jones County Regional Center in Monticello. Kirkwood President Kristie Fisher, college officials, local community leaders and members of the general public are all expected to be in attendance.
The meeting will be the second for the County Leadership Council, which brings key stakeholders together for a conversation about how Kirkwood’s impactful resources are utilized in their community as well as how the college can address other pressing needs. The discussion will center on the institution’s workforce and training efforts in Jones County, including what Kirkwood offers currently. In addition, college leaders would like to hear ideas from those attending about how the college can further serve their region.
According to Kirkwood Jones County Regional Center Director Craig Stadtmueller, the meeting is a chance to expand the institution’s impact in the county.
“We’re excited to bring the community together to talk about workforce development and training opportunities in Jones County,” said Stadtmueller. “Kirkwood is committed to providing education and resources that make a real difference for local businesses and residents. This meeting is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and explore how we can better serve the area. The more input we have, the stronger our programs will be.”
The college plans to hold two County Leadership Council meetings per year in the fall and spring.
