What is your background?: I was born and raised in Iowa. I’ve lived in Sharon Center, between Iowa City and Kalona my whole life. I went to Iowa City West High school, graduating in 2006. My parents are also both Iowa born and raised–both on farms! I live at home with my parents, sister and brother in law! Full house!
What brought you to Kirkwood and why?: I originally attended Kirkwood to study liberal arts, particularly drawing! I have since returned for the Computer Support Specialist program, and am currently studying Cybersecurity and Compliance.
What is your program of study and what interests you about it?: I am studying Cybersecurity, which is a fairly new program offered at Kirkwood. I’ve been interested in technology since my family got its first Macintosh Classic computer when I was a kid! Cybersecurity sounded like an interesting and new experience/opportunity!
Are you involved in anything on campus?: I am not currently involved in anything on campus.
What do you do for fun?: I enjoy playing video games a lot in my free time and occasionally drawing. I like to hang out with my best friend, whether at home or out on the town. I help with my families flock of chickens, including 15 hens, one rooster, and one tiny little bantam hen. I also have a cat that loves to demand attention!
Where do you see yourself in five years?: I hope to be working in a position where my current education can be put to its best use.
