Kirkwood Community College’s Graphic Communication Technology program recently announced a new graphic design articulation with Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids.
“Kirkwood and Mount Mercy have had a long standing relationship regarding transfer options for Kirkwood students,” said Lisa Dutchik, dean of Kirkwood’s Business and Information Technology academic department. “The inclusion of a direct transfer from the Graphic Communication program to Mount Mercy’s Graphic Design program provides a robust and creative pathway between our two colleges.”
Students completing Kirkwood’s Graphic Communication Technology program earn an Associate of Applied Science degree, then are eligible to transfer to Mount Mercy University, with the ability to earn a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design within two more years, rounding out students’ core understanding of graphic design principles and the application to the greater design field.
