At the start of the fall semester on August 24, Kirkwood Community College will offer four new programs. Exercise Science, Business Administration, Honda Professional Automobile Career Training (PACT) and MOPAR CAP (Career Automotive Program) LOCAL will be added to the list of more than 120 programs Kirkwood offers.
Students will learn how to help people live healthier lives through exercise, rehabilitation and nutrition as they study the science behind human movement, exercise and diets as part of the new Exercise Science Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.
After completing the Business Administration A.A.S. degree, students will be on track to transfer to the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa and enter as juniors.
Automotive Technology program will have two new certificate offerings this fall. The Honda PACT Certification program trains students to maintain, diagnose and repair one of the world’s most popular brands of automobiles over the course of one year. The MOPAR CAP LOCAL program, teaches students specific technologies used exclusively on Chrysler vehicles including Jeep, Dodge and Fiat through an internship-based program leveraging knowledge learned in the classroom and refining these skills on the job. Following graduation, students will be prepared to work at participating dealerships.
