Kirkwood Community College Performing Arts presents the Vocal Ensembles Concert Friday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The Vocal Ensembles Concert features the Kirkwood Concert Chorale directed by Dr. Fred Kiser and the Kirkwood Vocal Jazz Ensembles – Jazz Transit, and RSVP directed by Ray Salucka. Enjoy a diverse evening of vocal music.
Tickets are on sale and can be purchased in advance at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, online at www.coralvillearts.org or by calling 319-398-5899, ext. 4331. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens, and free to Kirkwood students, faculty and staff with valid ID.
The Kirkwood Concert Chorale is a 40-60 member ensemble that performs a wide variety of choral music from different styles and historical periods, with works from Renaissance to contemporary composers, world music, and musical theater. The Chorale is made up of men and women from across campus who wish to continue their vocal work regardless of area of study. The Concert Chorale is an auditioned choir conducted by Dr. Fred Kiser.
The vocal jazz groups, RSVP and Jazz Transit, under the director of Ray Salucka, have been recognized for their high standards of performance, and have received national and international acclaim. They have presented themselves as two of the premier vocal jazz ensembles in the country, and have showcased their talent in places such as France, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
