Education Advisory Board turns to Kirkwood for insight
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (September 21, 2015)—Kirkwood Training and Outreach Services’ business training consortium has been cited as an industry best practice by the Education Advisory Board (EAB).
EAB works with more than one thousand colleges and universities across North America and Europe. Their research teams uncover and share the best ideas from across higher education. The Business Partners program, Kirkwood’s business training consortium, was included in EAB’s publication, Growing Corporate Training Revenue: Five Strategies to Scale Employer Outreach.
Business Partners has been offered to area businesses for more than 15 years. The program balances the efficiency of open enrollment courses with the customization of contract training. Kirkwood collaborates with area employers to identify common training needs and develops curriculum accordingly. The program offers businesses “season tickets” to collective training sessions. This enables employers to send different staff to each four-hour session.
“Foremost Kirkwood strives to make education pertinent and accessible to area employers,” said Senior Director of Training and Outreach Services Amy Lasack. “Being acknowledged for this practice is a great compliment.”
While enrollment is still being accepted 60 seats, representing over 20 companies, are filled for the next session that begins September 28. Training is offered in Cedar Rapids and Marion. For more information visit www.kirkwood.edu/businesspartners or call 319-988-5623.
