What is your background?: I graduated from Blackhawk High School in South Wayne, Wisconsin. I also have family in Muscoda and Milwaukee Wisconsin. My parents are Jen and Scott and I have one older sister, Macy. I also have two cats named Kevin and Koby.
What brought you to Kirkwood and why?: I knew I wanted to play basketball in college and after a visit with Coach Muhl and more research in the education program, I knew it was the right fit for me. Kirkwood has fantastic scholarship opportunities, it’s affordable, amazing facilities, small class sizes and a good location where my parents can drive and watch my games.
What is your program of study and what interests you about it?: Currently I am in my second year of the Liberal Arts Program. I am pursuing a major in elementary education and possibly physical education. I have a passion for teaching and coaching and am excited to make an impact on young people. My mom is an elementary physical education teacher and is someone so many children look up to, it is my hope to make an impact on children just like her. My sister is also pursuing education and lives in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Here on campus, my professors are very helpful and positive, making my college experience amazing.
Are you involved in anything off of campus?: As a student athlete and a member of the women’s basketball team, I am very busy so I am not involved with anything else on campus. In the summer I volunteer with youth basketball programs and ref AAU basketball.
What do you do for fun?: I am always busy! Besides playing basketball, in my spare time I enjoy traveling, going out to eat with friends, playing tennis, watching movies, and hanging out with my teammates. Some amazing places I have visited so far are the Dominican Republic, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.
Where do you see yourself in five years?: In five years, I hope to be working with kids and as an elementary school teacher–most likely physical education.
