What is your background?: I live in Riverside, Iowa, I attend Highland High School, and I live with my mom, (Heather), dad, (Mike), and sister, (Taylor). We also have a pet rabbit named Panda.
What brought you to Kirkwood and why?: I started going to Kirkwood to earn college credit in high school while it was still free of charge for me to do. By earning college credit in high school, I was hoping to save money for college outside of high school, and I have been able to gain 42 credits before graduating high school.
What is your program of study and what interests you about it?: I am in the liberal arts academy at Kirkwood. I was drawn to the liberal arts academy because of what it offered and the benefits it could give me. I have been able to take many classes from different genres such as economics, history, composition, and even religion.
Are you involved in anything else on campus? If so, what and why?: I am a student ambassador for the Washington Regional Center. I decided to be a student ambassador because I felt that I could benefit others by telling them all of the opportunities Kirkwood can provide.
Are you involved in anything off of campus?: Yes, I am involved in cross country, track and field, speech, and National Honor Society at Highland. I work at KCII Radio in Washington as well. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, playing video games, and watching sports.
What do you do for fun?: For fun, I play video games, spend time with friends, and watch sports.
Where do you see yourself in five years?: In five years, I hope that I am close, or have already graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. It is hard to picture everything else like where I may work, if I will be with a significant other, or where I may live because of the multitude of uncertainties that exist in life.
