Modern teaching hotel welcoming first dining and overnight guests
After several years of research and planning and 21 months of construction, the “Opening Soon” signs have come down. The message at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center is, “Now Open.”
The new teaching hotel at Kirkwood Community College started accepting overnight guests and dining reservations July 26. Officially, The Hotel opened for guests at 5 p.m. on Monday.
General Manager Lee Belfield says the professional staff was busily preparing for the first guests spending evenings at The Hotel.
“Our staff has been training and planning for this day for some time. In terms of service and customer care, we look forward to demonstrating how enjoyable a guest experience can be, and what the future of hospitality and culinary education will be,” Belfield said.
