A player from the Peach State has enjoyed a fruitful spring playing at Kirkwood Community College. The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has named Kylee Knop as its Softball Player of the Week.
The sophomore pitcher from Oxford, Georgia was honored for her performances in the second week of April. In five games, April 6 -12 Knop pitched 31 innings and notched a win in all five contests. Two of the game wins were shutouts. Knop had an ERA of 1.45 through the week and threw 27 strikeouts to only 7 walks.
After graduation in May Kylee Knop will transfer to a four-year college or university. She plans to major in athletic training in addition to her student-athlete role.
