Saturday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.

Kirkwood Community College students will create a fall tasting event with local pork, squash, apples and a secret ingredient. Four Culinary Arts student chefs will compete against each other in an Iron Chef-like competition, called “Chop!”

Guests will sample and judge this inaugural contest. The competition is a fundraiser, sponsored by Kirkwood’s Alpha Eta Rho chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

Chop! will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, in The Hotel at Kirkwood Center’s Executive Technology Amphitheater, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids. The cost is $20 per person. Reservations must be made by calling 319-848-8770, by Friday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m.

Kirkwood students get free admission with the donation of at least five pounds of non-perishable food, dropped off in 336 Cedar Hall or room 180S of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, also by Nov. 9.

All money and food raised will be donated to the Linn Community Food Bank.
