What is your background?: I am originally from Moncks Corner, South Carolina. My family moved up to Iowa City when I was five. We stayed here for a while and moved back down to South Carolina in 2017. We stayed down there for three years and moved back summer 2020. I’ve been here ever since. My family consists of my mom, her boyfriend, my older sister(25), my younger sister(17), my other younger sister(14), my other other younger sister(13), my younger brother(10), and my youngest sister(4). I went to Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner for my freshman year and I finished out high school at Iowa City West High.
What brought you to Kirkwood and why?: I wasn’t necessarily sure what I wanted to do with my life quite yet and I didn’t have the money to go figure it out at a four-year school either. I’m thankful enough to have had good friends recommend Kirkwood to me and I eventually visited with my best friend and his dad. I really liked what I saw, so now I go here.
What is your program of study and what interests you about it?: My program of study is technically Liberal Arts but I’m working towards a Cinema degree at the University of Iowa. I’ve been making movies and videos my whole life. I make stop-motion videos with my action figures and legos, while also doing some 2-d animations on my iPad.
Are you involved in anything on campus?: I’m in the video production club KSP on main campus. I really enjoy working with everyone there because they are so nice and creative. Assistant Professor Randy Langel is cool too.
What do you do for fun?: I make animation videos with my action figures and I draw all the time. I also like playing Minecraft, thrifting, reading/making comics and exploring abandoned buildings. I also also consume a bunch of media. I love watching movies.
Where do you see yourself in five years?: I see myself living with my lovely girlfriend, somewhere cool, and hopefully making cool stuff that I can show people to make a living.
