On Tuesday, July 21, Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL), an Alliant Energy company along with Iowa Renewable Energy Association (I-Renew) will co-host a stop of the Renew America Roadtrip™ from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kirkwood Community College, Auto Technology building, in Cedar Rapids.
Everyone is invited to learn about the future of transportation with the road crew of the Renew America Roadtrip™ (RAR) project. The centerpiece of the coast-to-coast journey is the lead vehicle: an all-electric Tesla Roadster.
Kirkwood’s Auto Tech building is on the north side of the main Cedar Rapids campus, across from the Kirkwood Kids childcare center. Parking is available at that center and a large nearby lot just southwest of the Auto Tech building.
The RAR team will be stopping by Cedar Rapids on their way cross-country from New York City to San Francisco as part of their drive to raise awareness for renewable, sustainable, and eco-friendly initiatives. While at Kirkwood, there will be free drawings for chances to ride in their beautiful Tesla Motors Roadster, ‘America’s first production all-electric sportscar.’

The Renew America Roadster features ECOPunch, eco-friendly audio by Rockford Corp and ECORoute, eco-friendly routing by Garmin. The crew will be wearing environmentally gentle clothing from Element.
