Kirkwood Head Volleyball Coach Jill Williams reached the 250-win mark Saturday, September 21, after the Eagles defeated Southwestern Illinois College. Kirkwood will honor her achievement Wednesday night before the game versus Iowa Lakes Community College.

The Eagles are now 21-5 on the season and undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 record. The team began the season ranked eighth nationally and have moved up to number five as they enter the final month of the regular season. While she is proud of reaching 250 wins, Williams remains focused on the 2013 campaign.

“I’m happy about the success we’ve had, but it’s in the past,” said Williams. “What matters now is the way we finish the regular season. We need to keep our focus and not let up. I can’t stress how important it is to have momentum going into the post-season.”

Williams is in her ninth season as Kirkwood’s head volleyball coach. She has an overall record of 254-129 as of September 29.

After the brief recognition on Wednesday, Kirkwood takes on Iowa Lakes Community College (3-16) in an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference matchup. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. in Johnson Hall.

The game will be streamed live by Kirkwood Student Productions at www.kirkwood.edu/ktslive. It will also be broadcast on the Kirkwood Channel on Mediacom Cable channel 11.
