The final event will be held Monday, June 10

What if every member of your staff believed and had the know-how to be creative and innovative? It’s possible, and nationally known speaker JoAnn Corley will share just how to make that happen.

Corley’s “Creative and Innovative Thinking: The Next New Skill,” session aims to help tap and nurture creative and innovative thinking by connecting audience members with their creativity and unique contributions. She also will unveil an ideation process to tap creativity and apply over and over to continuously generate ideas, improve processes and cultivate innovation.

Corley, CEO of a talent management company, will speak Monday, June 10, from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Kirkwood Center. Tuition is $99 and includes a lunch.

“Creative and innovative thinking is an economic imperative and an essential component in effective talent management and leadership,” said Corley. “I was amazed to discover as I conducted workshops across North America that when attendees were asked if they believed they were creative — on average — only one quarter of the room would raise their hand. That’s frightening from an economic development perspective.”

From the work she’s done, Corley said she sees that number as a reflection of a creative and innovative thinking deficit. Her workshops are designed to substantially address that in a way that is fun, approachable and relevant.

A few years ago a survey from the IBM’s Institute for Business Value showed that CEOs value one leadership competency above all others. That competency was creativity. This event aims to bring that competency to life and bridge the gap between belief and know-how. Each attendee will walk away with practical tips to get creative juices flowing in a way that they never again have to sit at their desk and say, “I’ve got to come up with an idea!”
