Georgia native honored again for mid-April play, academic work
Fresh from earning the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors, the ICCAC has tapped Kylee Knop of Kirkwood Community College as its Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
The Oxford, Georgia freshman pitcher earned the honors with her stellar stats for the week of April 14-19. Knop notched four wins in the period, including 17 strike-outs and 3 BBs, while only allowing 3 runs.
Knop has maintained a strong GPA while juggling the demanding schedules of a full class load, training and games. She plans on attending a four-year university following her Kirkwood graduation in 2010. Knop aims for a degree in athletic training as well as continuing her student-athlete role at her next college.
