Sophomore shortstop was key ingredient in more wins for Kirkwood in mid-April
The Kirkwood Community College Eagles softball team built a 6-2 record in mid-April. Stephanie Wieck was a key factor in that success, and the ICCAC has named her as its Division II Softball Athlete of the Week.
From April 14-19 the Eagles counted on Wieck for some key performance factors. The West Des Moines Dowling grad was 11 for 25 at the plate, with 3 runs scored on stolen bases. Wieck also batted .440 for the week and had a fielding percentage of .996 from her shortstop position.
Following Kirkwood graduation this spring, Stephanie Wieck plans to attend a four-year university and continue her role as a student-athlete.
