CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (March 30, 2018)-Kirkwood Community College will host the 2018 Beyond Rubies Women’s Conference on Thursday, April 5, and Friday, April 6, at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center located at 7725 Kirkwood Boulevard in southwest Cedar Rapids.
This year’s conference features two keynote speakers who blend humor and inspiration to motivate attendees to live life to its full potential. The first day of the event, Lisa Mills, an award-winning comedian, motivational speaker and author will speak on “Transforming Ordinary into Extraordinary.” On Friday, Sonya White, a comedian who combines southern charm and big city street smarts, will teach attendees how to “Be Electric” with positive energy.
“Beyond Rubies is a conference for women of all generations and backgrounds to learn practical ideas on how to succeed, while juggling increasingly complex and diverse life demands,” said Conference Coordinator Erin Brokel. “Whether you’re a first-time participant or you’ve been coming for years, it will be an unforgettable event guaranteed to inform, inspire and empower.”
A few new topic sessions this year include Building Your Business Network, Engaging Millennials, Naturally CR!, Acupuncture Wisdom, Nice Girls DO Get the Corner Office, Memoirs: A Precious Gift to Leave Behind, and How to Balance, Energize and Enhance Your Financial Life. In addition, there will also be chair yoga each morning and a Wine and Cheese Networking event on Thursday.
